I used to love getting an Orange Julius at the mall, but it has both egg and milk ingredients. It took a lot of experimenting, but I finally have a vegan Orange Julius copycat recipe that tastes just like I remember! This orange delight is creamy, frothy, sweet, and delicious! Here is what you need to make it:
Add the orange juice, vegan powdered sugar, salt, vanilla, and light coconut milk to your blender jar:
Put the lid on the blender jar, and blend on high until well combined:
Add the ice, then put the lid back on. Hold the lid on tightly with one hand (I know this is necessary from experience!) and blend on high speed until all of the ice is very finely crushed. Serve and enjoy!
Vegan Orange Julius Copycat
Just like the original Orange Julius, this vegan copycat recipe is creamy, frothy, sweet, and delicious!
Ingredients
- 840 g (3 1/2 c) Orange Juice
- 150 g (1 to 1 1/4 c) Vegan Powdered Sugar
- 1.2 g (3/16 tsp) Salt
- 2.5 g (1/2 tsp) Vanilla Extract
- 240 g (1 c) Light Coconut Milk
- 360 g (about 2 1/2 c) Ice Cubes
Instructions
-
Add the orange juice, vegan powdered sugar, salt, vanilla, and light coconut milk to your blender jar. If you are measuring the powdered sugar, use 1 cup if you are using homemade and 1 1/4 c if you have store-bought. The homemade powdered sugar works great, but it is a little more dense than store-bought and weighs a little more per cup. The light coconut milk is the kind in a can, and not a coconut milk beverage.
-
Put the lid on the blender jar, and blend on high until well combined.

Add the ice, then put the lid back on. Hold the lid on tightly with one hand (I know this is necessary from experience!) and blend on high speed until all of the ice is very finely crushed. Serve and enjoy!
This looks so good! Back when I could eat, I used to make “orange julius” at home all the time with orange juice concentrate, soy milk, vanilla, a little sugar and ice cubes.
Yours sounds so good with the coconut milk!
Thanks, Natalie!
